Funzines

In my sophmore year of high school during the fall of 1976, I began producing a monthly publication for my friends and family called Bruce's Funzine. Just over a year later, in the December 1977 issue of the funzine, I announced that it was being put to rest. But in early 1978, I released the first issue of Bruce's Fanzine, which was, in essence the same thing. The only difference was, the fanzine was tied in directly with the B.S.F.C. (The Bruce Smith Fan Club), an organization formed, it seemed, for the sole purpose of promoting further silliness. The funzine/fanzine met its demise in June of 1979 with my graduation from high school and the official disbanding of the B.S.F.C. However, there would be two more issues before the magazines went away entirely: a special edition and an extra edition.

When my mom was in the hospital for kidney surgery during the summer of 76, I created this "Fun Page" for her as a get-well card. This was the precursor to the funzine, and it contains one of the most devious mazes I have ever created. But, yes, it can be solved!
